NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A driver was carjacked at gunpoint in Chelsea by a man who crashed into his car and punched him in the face, police said Thursday as they released images of the suspect.

The 26-year-old victim was sitting in his car at W. 14th Street and Sixth Avenue around 2:20 a.m. on Feb. 26 when a man in a gray Audi sedan rear-ended his vehicle.

The man got out of the Audi, started an argument with the victim and then punched him in the face, police said.

He then took out a firearm and carjacked the victim at gunpoint.

The carjacker was last seen fleeing westbound on W. 15th Street in the victim’s car.

An accomplice of the suspect also fled the area in the Audi, police said.

The victim refused medical attention at the scene.
