
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man was slashed in the face by a driver who almost ran him over on a Midtown street Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The attack happened just before 5 p.m. as the 36-year-old victim was crossing West 34th Street, police said.
A man in a vehicle drove close to the victim and scared him. He threw his hands up toward the suspect and then walked away, according to officials.
The attacker then got out of his vehicle and ran toward the victim from behind before slashing him on the right side of his face with a sharp object, cops said.
After assaulting the victim, the man got into his car and fled the scene. EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.
The man police are searching for has a light complexion, looks to be in his mid-20s with a thin build and blonde hair in a ponytail.
