EATONTOWN, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver after two pet Labrador retrievers were killed during a collision in New Jersey over the weekend, police said.
The crash happened on Saturday, August 28, around 12:40 a.m. on Tinton Avenue, when a person driving a dark sedan, struck the two dogs before driving off, according to the Eatontown Police Department.
Officials said one of the Labradors died at the scene and the second died later at the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital.

Investigators said the car, which is believed to be a dark Mitsubishi Outlander, likely had damage to the front passenger side near its front quarter panel, investigators said.
It was last seen driving north on Route 35 at Tinton Avenue heading toward Shrewsbury and Red Bank.
It was unclear if the dogs were in the street or in a yard at the time of the collision.
