NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A pair of thieves stole an unoccupied subway train in Queens and took it for a joyride before crashing it and fleeing the scene, police said Wednesday.
The NYPD released photos of the duo—a male and female—walking through the darkened train at the Briarwood station last Thursday morning.
According to police, they broke into the train shortly after midnight and then operated it.

It’s unclear how far they traveled, but they ultimately “caused a collision” that damaged the train, police said.
No injuries were reported in the crash.

The suspects fled the station and haven’t been seen since, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
