E-bike rider dies after being struck by school bus in Brooklyn: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 32-year-old woman died after she was struck by a yellow school bus while riding an e-bike in Brownsville on Friday morning.

Police said officers received a 911 call at around 11:20 a.m. of a pedestrian struck in the vicinity of Saint Marks Avenue and Eastern Parkway.

Cops arrived to find the victim unconscious and unresponsive, lying in the street with trauma to her body.

EMS responded and transported the victim to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

According to a subsequent investigation, a 48-year-old male school bus driver came into contact with the victim while she was riding an E-bike.

The bus driver remained at the scene, authorities said. No criminality is suspected at this time.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

An investigation is ongoing.
