NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Early voting opened Saturday ahead of the June 27 New York City primary election.
Voters will decide which candidates for City Council, local judgeships and district attorney seats will run in the Nov. 7 general election.
All 51 City Council members are running for four-year terms after serving two years due to redistricting.
The races for City Council and judges will use ranked-choice voting, a system that allows voters to rank five candidates in order of preference.
If no candidate receives more than 50% of first-choice votes, tallying proceeds in rounds by taking into account lower ranked votes.
Elections for district attorneys use state election rules, which do not use ranked-choice voting.
You can find your poll site here and see who is running on your ballot here.
Polls will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday. On Tuesday, polls will open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Wednesday and Thursday, polls will open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and then back to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the 25th.
