NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police released a photo on Monday of two men accused of posing as repairmen dispatched to repair a leak then duct-taped and robbed a victim of $30K in the Bronx last month.
It happened on Friday, Sept. 20, at approximately 1 p.m. when the men entered an apartment in the vicinity of Courtlandt Avenue and East 150th Street in Melrose.
When the 43-year-old man gave them access, both suspects displayed knives. According to officials, one of them placed the knife at the victim's throat while the other bound his hands with the duct tape.
The suspects then used a crowbar to force entry into a room, removing a safe containing $30,000, an iPad, and a passport, then fled on foot to parts unknown.
The victim sustained pain and minor bruising to the neck but refused medical attention at the scene.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
