NEW YORK -- If you were hoping to hear “Sugar We’re Goin’ Down” in Queens tonight, we’ve got some bad news.
Fall Out Boy announced that it would not be taking the stage at their Citi Field tour date or Thursday night’s show in Boston after an “individual on the band’s team” tested positive for COVID-19.
The Chicago-based band just kicked off their delayed “Hella Mega Tour" with Green Day and Weezer late last month. The pause occurred five shows into the tour.
Green Day and Weezer will still be playing the New York and Boston shows, with Fall Out Boy scheduled to return Aug. 8 in Washington, D.C.
In a release, Fall Out Boy says everyone on the entire tour is fully vaccinated and each band is operating in a bubble to keep as safe as possible during and in between shows.
“The tour also has a COVID safety protocol officer on staff full-time that is ensuring everyone is closely following all CDC guidelines,” the band said.
