Person hit by falling debris in Manhattan hospitalized in unknown condition

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A victim was hospitalized after being struck by falling debris in Gramercy Thursday morning, the FDNY said.

The victim was on Park Avenue South, near East 22nd Street, at 11:15 a.m. when the debris rained down on them, according to fire officials.

It wasn’t immediately clear what the debris was or where it came from.

A call reporting the injury was made at 11:16 a.m. and the victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue to receive treatment, according to the FDNY.

The condition of the victim is currently unknown.
