NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A subway farebeater slapped an MTA worker across the face as she stopped him from slipping through an exit gate at Penn Station, police said Friday.
A photo from the NYPD shows the suspect police are after in last Monday's attack at the 34th Street–Penn Station stop.
The 60-year-old victim was on duty when she was assaulted around 11:30 a.m. while exiting through a gate to the mezzanine area, police said.
As she was passing through the gate, the man tried to sneak past her into the subway. When she stopped him, he slapped her across the face with an open hand, according to police.
He fled into the station after the attack, while she was transported by EMS to NYU Langone Health.
