Cheektowaga, N.Y. (WBEN) - A man died early Tuesday morning following a damaging fire at a Cheektowaga home.
It happened at 111 Ridge Park Avenue near the Walden Galleria around 2am Tuesday morning.
Fire officials say the only occupant in the home was in a wheelchair on the second floor. It took a lengthy amount of time to pull him from the home.
The man was rushed to ECMC but he did not survive.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire conditions on both levels of the house.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
