NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An EMT is suing the FDNY for discrimination, saying she was retaliated against by a "jealous" boss after she posed as Miss March in the FDNY's "Calendar of Heroes."
Margot Loth said it was an honor to be featured in the 2019 fundraising calendar but that she was then targeted by her boss, Capt. Donna Tiberi.
According to the New York Post, Loth filed a suit Saturday in Manhattan federal court, claiming Tiberi started referring to her as "calendar girl" and retaliated, including by refusing her overtime, filing false disciplinary infractions and blocking her from a promotion.
Loth's lawyer, Vincent White, told the Post that Tiberi "seems to hold ire for 'attractive' employees."
"The FDNY is a male-dominated place, only so much room for advancement for females in the workplace," White said. "There appears to be gender motivations from Tiberi for that reason."
The lawsuit alleges the FDNY "failed to address" the behavior.
Tiberi hung up when reached by phone, according to the Post.
A spokesperson for the FDNY declined to comment because of the pending litigation.
