NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was arrested after the FDNY found over 900 propane tanks in a Brooklyn warehouse on Friday.

FDNY fire protection inspectors were conducting an inspection at the warehouse on Nevins Street, near Union Street in Gowanus, when they found the propane cylinders stacked "from floor to ceiling" in a refrigeration unit, the FDNY said.

In all, inspectors found 904 propane cylinders weighing 20 pounds each in the warehouse, according to the FDNY.

Local fire units responded to the scene to check for gas leaks.

As fire marshals arrived, they were met by Mohamed Mohamed, the manager of the building, according to the FDNY.

Mohamed admitted to ordering the propane tanks and selling them to another man so he could resell them to restaurants and businesses for heating outdoor dining areas, the FDNY said.

Mohamed was arrested for reckless endangerment, the department said.

He was handed a desk appearance ticket and released later Friday, sources told the Daily News. Mohamed provides propane for food trucks, a client told the paper.
