NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An FDNY firefighter was seriously hurt after he fell through a flight of stairs while battling a blaze in Queens early Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The two-alarm fire broke out at a home on 85th Street, between 88th Road and 88th Avenue in Woodhaven, around 5 a.m. on Wednesday, the FDNY said.
One firefighter was seriously injured after he fell through a flight of stairs at the scene, the department confirmed. He was in serious but stable condition as of 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the department.
The fire left two civilians with minor injuries, the FDNY said. Firefighters brought the blaze under control by around 6:30 a.m., the department said.
It wasn't immediately clear how the fire started. An investigation is ongoing.
