NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Officials are investigating after a fire broke out at a Con Edison power plant in Astoria early Wednesday.

At about 4:15 a.m., authorities received a call reporting a transformer fire at the Ravenswood Generating Station.

The FDNY worked with ConEd personnel to extinguish the fire. Officials say the plant fire suppression system helped extinguish most of it.
