Fire erupts on roof of Hudson Yards high-rise, 1 firefighter injured

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Thick smoke erupted over Manhattan after a fire broke out on the roof of a high-rise luxury apartment building in Hudson Yards late Thursday morning, according to the FDNY.

The fire started at around 11:30 a.m. on the roof of The Set, a 44-story building located at 455 10th Avenue between West 35th and West 36th Streets.

Firefighters responded to the scene, with 20 units and 78 personnel working to contain the blaze. The fire was brought under control by 12:11 p.m., according to officials.

One firefighter sustained minor injuries, but no other injuries or fatalities have been reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
