NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man who randomly attacked two young girls aboard a Brooklyn subway train Tuesday night, authorities said.
At about 9:20 p.m., the girls, 6 and 9, were on board a southbound subway train approaching the 7th Avenue station in Park Slope with their mother and 6-year-old brother when a man wearing dark clothing and pushing a shopping cart approached them, police said.
The man then began "acting irrationally" without being provoked and started yelling before kicking the girls in the head, sources told the New York Post.
The mother and brother were not injured.
The sisters were transported to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in stable condition, officials said.
The attacker exited the subway and no arrests have been made.
An investigation remains ongoing.
