HACKENSACK, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A GoFundMe fundraiser has raised over $11,000 as of Friday afternoon for a 54-year-old patient care technician who a co-worker set on fire and beat with a wrench.

The technician, who remains anonymous, suffered third degree burns and cuts to the head that required stitches, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office. She is in critical, but stable condition at the St. Barnabas Hospital burn ward in the Bronx.
Nicholas Pagano, the 31-year-old nurse who was wanted on charges of attempted murder, aggravated arson, aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday morning — the day after the attack.
“This patient care tech was a hard-working woman. Everyone enjoyed working with her, including her patients,” wrote Nita Ibrahim, a nurse at HUMC and the organizer of the GoFundMe. “A kind woman who worked hard every day and never took any shortcuts.”
Ibrahim said the GoFundMe was started with the permission of the victim’s husband and son, but that the family wished to remain anonymous to maintain their privacy.
