NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man in a wheelchair was saved by a Good Samaritan after he fell onto the train tracks at a Manhattan subway station Wednesday afternoon.
This incident occurred just after 1 p.m. at the Union Square station.
A video taken by Lauren Mennen, an employee at CBS2 captured as a man jumped onto the tracks to help the victim who had fallen onto the tracks.
"I was waiting for the 5 train not facing them when it happened," Mennen told 1010 WINS. "I heard the commotion and ran over" to see what was going on. .
The Good Samaritan managed to help the man and his wheelchair and himself back on the platform with the help of others less than 30 seconds before a downtown 6 train pulled into the station.
