NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A group of protesters surrounded a woman and attacked her with an egg, aerosol string, a skateboard and a soiled diaper at Madison Square Park on Sunday, the NYPD said.
The 33-year-old woman was in the park between Madison Avenue and 5th Avenue in Manhattan around noon on Jan. 10 when a group of protesters surrounded her, shoved her, hit her on the head with an egg and used an umbrella to knock her phone to the ground, police said Friday.

As the woman ran from the group, one member sprayed her with aerosol string while another hit her with a skateboard, the NYPD said. A third member of the group then rubbed a soiled baby diaper on her face, police said.

The woman's attackers fled the scene after the incident, police said. The NYPD didn't provide any additional details about the attack.
AmNewYork reported that the protesters gathered in Manhattan on Sunday "in retaliation to a proposed MAGA march," but police didn't say whether those specific protesters were involved in the incident.
Police couldn't say whether the woman was also a protester or not, but did say they believe the attack was unprovoked.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
