CRIME SPREE: Group sought in robberies, carjacking in Bronx, Queens

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police on Thursday released a photo of a trio of suspects wanted in a car theft and series of robberies in the Bronx and Queens last month, authorities said.

The first incident happened at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, when a 33-year-old man parked his 2018 Hyundai Sonata in the vicinity of Boone Avenue and East 173rd Street in Charlotte Gardens.

Upon the victim returning to his vehicle at midnight on Wednesday, July 26 his vehicle was no longer there, officials said.

Video surveillance determined that three of the suspects were present during the theft of the victim's vehicle.

At 2:23 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, a 23-year-old man was walking in front of 87-39 164th St. in Jamaica Hills when he was approached by a group of three suspects.

One of the suspects displayed a firearm while a second suspects forcibly removed the victim's chain.

All three suspects fled into the stolen 2018 Hyundai Sonata being driven by a fourth unknown suspect, officials.

The vehicle was last seen travelling southbound on 164th Street.

The third incident happened at approximately 3:45 p.m., a 43-year-old man was walking in front of at the World's Fair Marina located at 125-00 Northern Boulevard when he was approached by a group of five suspects.

According to police, one of the suspects displayed a firearm while two others forcibly stole the victim's chain, a wallet containing approximately $2,500, a cellphone, and a designer watch.

The suspects fled into the stolen 2018 Hyundai Sonata.

The vehicle was last seen travelling westbound onto the Grand Central Parkway.

No injuries were reported as a result of any of the incidents.

The NYPD released an image from the first incident.

The victim's vehicle was recovered unoccupied on Tuesday, August 15 in the Bronx.
