NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A carjacker forced two men on a terrifying ride through Brooklyn Sunday night before the victims attempted to take his gun and a shot was fired, police said.

No one suffered any significant injuries in the carjacking in Dyker Heights, but the car still hadn’t been recovered as of Monday after the thief fled in it.

It all started just before 10 p.m. at Bay Ridge and 10th avenues, where the carjacker pointed a gun at the driver and entered the vehicle.

The victim drove for a bit before the vehicle came to a stop and the three men struggled over the carjacker's firearm, police said.

The fight spilled onto the street and one shot was fired from the gun.

No one was struck by the bullet, police said.

The carjacker jumped back into the Camry and drove away.

The carjacking came hours after two men stole an SUV with a woman and baby inside in the Bronx on Sunday morning. Neither the woman nor the child was injured.
