NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A gunman opened fire at vigil in Brooklyn last week, hitting a 34-year-old man in the arm and chest, surveillance footage released by the NYPD on Wednesday shows.
The suspect walked up to a group of people seated at the vigil on Gates Avenue, near Tompkins Avenue, in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 23, pulled out a gun and fired at them, police said.
Several bullets hit a 34-year-old man in the right arm and chest, the NYPD said. He was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
The gunman fled the scene soon after the shooting. He hadn't been arrested as of Thursday, according to police.
Police didn't say for whom or what the vigil was being held, or say how many people were in attendance.
