NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a gunman fired at a car on the Long Island Expressway in Queens early Sunday, authorities said.

At about midnight, shots were fired at another car just off Exit 32 in Bayside.

According to police, the suspected shooter drove around the vehicle to pass and fired his gun at the car before speeding off.

The shooting was due to the victim's car was moving too slowly, WABC-TV reported.

The driver attempted to go pursue the alleged shooter but instead got to a service road and called 911.

The driver was not injured as a result of this incident.

An investigation is ongoing.
