Gunman sought in triple shooting inside Washington Heights park

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating a triple shooting that happened inside a park in Washington Heights on Monday night, authorities said.

Just before 9 p.m., police responded to shots fired inside of Riverside Park in the vicinity of West 158 Street and Henry Hudson Parkway, officials said.

Upon arrival, officers observed two victims with gunshot wounds.

The first victim was a 19-year-old woman with gunshot wounds to both her right and left calves. The second victim was a 20-year-old woman with one gunshot wound to her left thigh.

EMS transported both women to New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in stable condition.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that a third victim, a 28-year-old woman had sustained a gunshot wound to her left shin in the shooting.

She transported herself by private means to Montefiore Medical Center in stable condition.

The three victims did not know each other, but were all attending a gathering at the location, police said.

So far there have been no arrests made and an investigation is ongoing.
