NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released video footage asking for the public's help to locate a 31-year-old suspect caught on surveillance video shooting a bodega worker, a crime now linked to a fatal weekend shooting at a Brooklyn restaurant.
Just after 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a robbery at 149 Grill and Deli at 149th Street in Mott Haven, where a gunman shot a 33-year-old worker in the chest multiple times. The gunman also stole an unknown amount of currency from behind the register before fleeing the deli, officials said.
Police also linked the gunman to a fatal shooting that happened on Sunday inside America's Best Wings and Pizza in Brownsville, where officers found a 44-year-old man fatally shot in the head and a 39-year-old man shot in the leg.
Authorities identified the alleged shooter as Jesus Acosta, a Bronx resident. He is described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 175 pounds, with distinctive tattoos including "Bronx" on his hand and "Bobby" on his left forearm.
