NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released surveillance footage on Thursday as they look to identify a man wanted after a dog was struck by a stray bullet in Brooklyn earlier this week.
At approximately 5:46 p.m on Aug. 19, the suspect brandished a firearm in front of 218 31st Street in Greenwood Heights and discharged a round toward an unidentified man, police said.
According to officials, the gunfire missed its intended target and struck a 7-year-old female dog instead. The injured animal was rushed by private means to a local animal hospital, where she is currently listed in stable condition. Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene on foot, heading southbound on 5th Avenue toward 36th Street.
Police describe the suspect as a light-complexioned male. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, camouflage pants, a black hat, and multicolored sneakers.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
