NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police confirmed that a “handful” of arrests were made outside The Met Gala Monday evening.

Social media posts showed crowds gather outside The Met on the night of the iconic gala for a protest.
Police would not confirm if crowds outside the event were there in support of any specific group or message. One Twitter user called it a "#FireThemAll protest." Getty tabbed it as a "Defund the Police" protest.
One video depicted tense moments between protesters and police, with officers shouting "back up!" at then several times. One person is seen lying on the ground before being led away, while another is being surrounded by multiple officers.
Crowds gathered nearby are heard chanting for justice while a police message says those in road would be arrested for disorderly conduct.
Another video shows two of the same people depicted in the first video as they're led away by officers.
One woman was heard shouting, “This is what they do! You fight for Black lives and they don’t care.”
A person who was tweeting about the arrests had earlier sent out a photo saying they were with an “autonomous group of NYC abolitionists who believe that policing does not protect and serve communities.”
Another user claimed “dozens” were arrested and that officers were seen wearing riot gear.
