NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Borough Park activist Harold "Heshy" Tischler was released from police custody Monday night.

"I arrived at my house, again, I would like to thank my dear friends and followers for the support and prayers," he tweeted. "Please, no violence whatsoever."

Tischler was taken into custody Sunday night in connection with the alleged assault of a Jewish Insider reporter last week during a protest against the COVID-19 shutdown zones, police said.

Tischler was charged with inciting to riot and unlawful imprisonment in connection with Oct. 7 alleged attack.

"I told you they were going to trick me," Tischler said to someone off-camera.

The officer responded, "I don't know what happened. That's above us."

Echoing what he said on Friday, Tischler argued with the officer that it was too early to arrest him. "We made a deal I was supposed to be arrested tomorrow," he
said.

Following Tischler's arrest Sunday night, protesters converged outside of the Brooklyn home of Jacob Kornbluh, the journalist who was assaulted last Wednesday during protests in Borough Park.
