NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Coming into the New Year, every New Yorker's eyes were on newly elected Mayor Eric Adams. However, that changed Wednesday when Gov. Kathy Hochul delivered her very first State of the State address.

Despite taking the reins from disgraced former Gov. Andrew Cuomo in August, Hochul insisted her work to improve the state is just beginning.

In her address, she announced numerous plans to tackle the state's affordable housing crisis, healthcare worker retention, and especially gun violence.

Two of the items that stood out the most though were her billion dollar rescue plan for small businesses and the unveiling of a new train line connecting Brooklyn and Queens.

How long before New Yorkers see those two changes - or any of the others - actually implemented? On this week's episode of 1010 WINS In Depth, host Femi Redwood aims to find out.
