
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A Staten Island house fire on Friday night sent two people to the hospital, one of which is in critical condition, the FDNY said.
The blaze at 208 Benzinger Avenue in St. George, Staten Island, was first reported to fire officials at 9:58 p.m. Friday night.
Officials said the flames were on the second and third floors, and at 10:09 p.m. it escalated to a two-alarm fire.

Twenty-five units comprised of fire officials and medical personnel responded.
Two people were injured in the fire and EMS transported them to Richmond University Medical Center, one with minor injuries and the other in critical condition, the FDNY said.
Pix11 reported that the victim in critical condition is a 73-year-old woman.
Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.
