NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- In just one year, Gov. Andrew Cuomo went from holding daily press conferences that became so popular they were nominated for an Emmy award to a press conference where his voice was noticeably trembling as he issued multiple apologies.
Cuomo is now facing a nursing home investigation for his decisions on what to do with COVID-positive patients and a possible cover-up on reporting the number of dead. Along with the growing allegations of sexual harassment from at least two female staffers and a woman he met at a wedding.
All of this as Cuomo tries to lead New York state's recovery from pandemic ruin.
On this episode of In Depth, 1010 WINS reporter Al Jones talks with Hank Sheinkopf, a veteran Democratic consultant who has worked in New York politics for decades, to find out if Cuomo can remain effective in office during the scandals and investigations.
We also speak with ABC News Political Director Rick Klein to understand how the negative news has impacted Governor Cuomo from a national political perspective.
