NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The founder of an investment firm died after falling from a Manhattan rooftop bar on Wednesday evening, authorities said.

According to officials, at about 6:30 p.m., 46-year-old Dale Chene fell from Bar 54 located in the Hyatt Centric Times Square New York.

Chene was pronounced dead on scene, police said.

Two witnesses at the rooftop bar told officials that a man had jumped off the building, the New York Post reported.

An NYPD spokesperson said the death is being investigated as a suspected suicide.

Court records show that Chene and his wife had filed for divorce on Tuesday.

The man was reportedly a founder and partner at a Connecticut-based investment company, the Post added.

"We are working closely with local authorities. The safety and wellbeing of all our colleagues, hotel guests and Bar 54 guests remains a top priority, and at this time, as a result of this tragic incident, we will keep the door to the bar's outdoor space locked at all times," the Hyatt Centric Times Square's general manager said in a statement.

"We are truly heartbroken at the situation that occurred this evening outside our rooftop bar, and we are keeping the victim's family and friends in our thoughts and hearts," the statement added.

This is the second time in less than four months that a person has died after falling from the hotel bar.
