NEW YORK (BLOOMBERG) -- JetBlue Airways Corp.’s flagship terminal at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport is getting a major refresh.

The revamp announced Thursday coincides with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion overhaul plan for the city’s largest airport, according to a press release. The enhancements are part of a $100 million investment into JetBlue Terminal 5 from Fraport USA, the terminal’s manager, and other partners, JetBlue said in an email.

More than 40 new concessions and customer experiences will be added to Terminal 5, the release said. The new offerings will include food and beverage options from local businesses. The improved terminal will showcase art installations featuring New York-based artists, as well as a redesigned center concourse inspired by scenes from the city’s iconic parks.

The New York City-based airline broke ground in 2023 on a new $4.2 billion Terminal 6 at JFK Airport, which will connect with Terminal 5 and an upcoming lounge. JetBlue said Terminal 5 improvements are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

Terminal 5, which opened in 2008, serves 165 JetBlue flights and more than 35,000 customers per day.
