NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- New York City mayoral candidate Kathryn Garcia has surpassed rivals Andrew Yang and Eric Adams in a new poll.
Garcia, who previously served as commissioner of the city's Department of Sanitation, garnered 21% of the votes in a new poll conducted by PIX11, NewsNation and Emerson College.
Adams, the current Brooklyn Borough President, and Yang, a former presidential candidate, received 20% and 16% of the votes in the poll, respectively.
New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer secured 10%; Maya Wiley, a former aide to Mayor Bill de Blasio, secured 9%; and nonprofit executive Dianne Morales secured 7%, PIX11 reported.
None of the other mayoral candidates polled above 5%, according to the outlet.
Garcia, who recently secured endorsements from the New York Times and the Daily News, was previously polling in fourth place, the outlet reported.
