NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Charles Oakley’s longtime feud with Knicks owner James Dolan continues, with the legendary rebounder revealing Tuesday that he was boxed out of a Las Vegas restaurant by his former boss and hasn’t returned to Madison Square Garden since he was banned in 2017.
Oakley said he was going to meet someone for lunch at a Vegas club connected to Dolan, only to find he wasn’t allowed inside.
“I made the reservation, but when I got there, they told me I couldn’t come in because he was going to be there,” Oakley told 1010 WINS’ Newsline with Brigitte Quinn.
“So it’s still going on, and I hope things can work out,” Oakley said of his feud with Dolan.
Next week marks five years since Oakley, 58, was famously thrown out of Madison Square Garden by Dolan following an altercation with security officials—a dispute that ultimately ended up in court.
“It was sad to see that happen in a place you put your sweat and tears in for 10 years, the whole decade,” Oakley said.
The NBA star said he goes past the Garden all the time, but he’s not sure he’ll ever be allowed back in.
“I haven’t stopped inside yet, I’m still banned probably,” he said.
Oakley’s ongoing quarrel with Dolan is among the topics discussed in his new memoir out this month called, “The Last Enforcer: Outrageous Stories From the Life and Times of One of the NBA's Fiercest Competitors.”
