NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Lower East Side woman reportedly stabbed her mother in their home Tuesday after she declined to recite a Santeria prayer.
Jackeline Cordero, 33, allegedly used a butcher knife to attack her 60-year-old mother around noon when she refused to partake in the Afro-Cuban prayer, sources told The New York Post.
Cordero allegedly threatened to kill her mother and stabbed her five times, including one blow to her stomach, according to the paper.
Her mother reportedly managed to escape their Madison Street home and call 911 from a neighboring apartment.
Cops arrived and arrested Cordero on her roof before charging her with assault and transporting her to Bellevue Hospital, the Post reported.
Her mother was also transported to Bellevue Hospital in critical, but stable condition, police confirmed to 1010WINS.
