
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A Saturday morning multi-car crash on the Long Island Expressway injured 13 and temporarily shut down the eastbound lanes, the FDNY said.
Emergency personnel responded to a call reporting a pileup collision on the eastbound LIE near Exit 32, or Little Neck Parkway, at 6:17 a.m. Saturday morning, the FDNY said.
Six cars, including one tractor trailer, were caught up in the crash that injured 13 people.
Victims of the accident were transported by EMS to North Shore University Hospital and New York-Presbyterian Hospital Queens.
None of the injuries sustained were life-threatening, officials reported.
The collision caused eastbound LIE lanes to be temporarily shut down. All lanes are back up and running.
The cause of the accident remains unclear.
