NYC lounge worker seriously injured after man fires shots into Queens venue

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a gunman who fired multiple shots into a lounge in Queens early Saturday morning, seriously injuring an employee.

The shooting happened just after 4 a.m. on Saturday when a fight broke out in front of the Lotus Lounge located at 66-48 Myrtle Ave. in Glendale.

A man drove up to the lounge in a black Range Rover, exited his vehicle and fired several rounds into the front door and windows of the establishment, police said.

The suspect was clad in all black and drove off westbound on Myrtle Avenue, authorities said.

Responding officers found the victim, a 39-year-old man who works at the lounge, with three gunshot wounds to his torso and one to his knee.

He was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jamaica where he is listed in stable condition, police said.

The Lotus Lounge posted an Instagram story on Saturday morning that read “SORRY WE ARE CLOSED TODAY.” The venue’s account bio now reads “Temporarily closed.”

The motive for the attack remains unknown, and police are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
