It’s unclear what led to the stabbing just after 10 p.m. at a house on Bergen Cove Road, near Royce Street, in Bergen Beach.

The son stabbed his 52-year-old mother in her head in a bedroom before turning the knife on his 64-year-old father, who he also stabbed in the head, police said.

The NYPD received a call about the assault and responded to the home, where officers arrested the son.

The son, who hasn’t been identified, was taken to the same hospital for observation.

A kitchen knife was recovered in the kitchen of the home, according to police.
