Man, 28, fatally shot at Bronx NYCHA building

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 28-year-old man was shot and killed at an NYC Housing Authority building on Friday evening, police said Saturday.

Officers responding to a call found Damian Rich with a gunshot wounded to his head at the building on Washington Avenue, near 167th Street, in the Morrisania section around 4:05 p.m.

Rich was pronounced dead at the scene after being found in a stairwell at the Claremont Consolidation houses, police said.

Sources told the Daily News that someone chased him into the stairwell before shooting him.

No arrests have been reported. Police said an investigation is ongoing.
