NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is investigating after a man was fatally shot in the head and a woman injured in a Bronx double shooting on Wednesday evening.
At approximately 5 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress outside a deli located at 2690 University Ave. in Kingsbridge Heights.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his head.

EMS transported the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
He was later identified as Marji Daoud, a Yonkers resident.
Additionally, police were alerted of a second victim, a 33-year-old woman, who was transported by private means to NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull with a gunshot wound to the left hip and is listed in stable condition.
It is unclear if either victims were the intended targets.
There are no arrests at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
