NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating the shooting death of a 29-year-old man at an East Harlem playground late Monday night, officials said.
At approximately 11:13 p.m., officials responded to a 911 call of a male shot inside of the Poor Richards Playground, located at East 107th Street and 3rd Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 29-year-old man, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the torso, lying inside of the basketball court near East 108th Street, between 2nd and 3rd Avenue.
EMS transported the victim to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. There are no arrests at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
