NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A 32-year-old man was killed in the Bronx early Saturday morning after getting stabbed in the neck, arm and chest during a large fight, the NYPD said.
At about 3:51 a.m., police responded to a call reporting an assault and stabbing at 435 East 153rd Street, in the Melrose section of the Bronx.
Police said that there was a large brawl outside of the address, and somehow during the scuffle, the victim was stabbed in the neck, arm and chest with an unknown sharp object.
The victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he was pronounced dead shortly after, officials said.
Police identified the victim as Baraquiel Catelan, who lived around the block from where the homicide took place.
The suspect fled on foot, authorities said.
Investigators said that the suspect is about 25-years-old, and a 5’7” bearded man last seen wearing a long sleeve white shirt with lettering on the side and back. He can be seen in photos provided by the NYPD.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
