Man, 50, slashed with knife in attempted Bronx robbery

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are looking to identify a suspect who slashed a man during an attempted robbery last month in the Bronx, authorities said.

At approximately 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, a 50-year-old man was in the vicinity of Mansion Street and Beach Avenue in Van Nest when the suspect attempted to steal his wallet from his pants pocket, officials said.

When the victim struggled, and the suspect slashed the victim in the hand with a knife.

The suspect was unsuccessful in taking any property from the victim and fled the scene westbound on Mansion Street in a dark colored Mini Cooper.

The victim was treated at the scene by EMS.
