NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police on Friday released photos of two suspects sought for slashing a man during a robbery on a Staten Island street earlier this month.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. on Monday, April 29, a 51-year-old man was in the vicinity of Stanley Avenue and Jersey Street in Brighton Heights when the suspects approached him from behind, brandishing a knife, officials said.

One suspect forcefully took the victim's wallet from his pocket while the other stole his cellphone from his vehicle, authorities said.

A scuffle ensued, resulting in the victim sustaining a cut to his left hand.

The suspects then fled towards Jersey Street to parts unknown.

The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
