Man, 59, found dead with trauma to head in Bronx homeless shelter

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was found dead at a homeless shelter in the Bronx around midnight Tuesday night, according to police.

Emergency Medical Services responded to a 911 call at 12:01 a.m. for an unconscious and unresponsive 59-year-old man inside a facility at 345 East 146th St. in Mott Haven, police said.

The victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead.

According to police, the man had trauma to his head and face.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. The man's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing, police said.
