Man, 72, suffers serious injuries in random StuyTown sucker punch

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A 72-year-old man was seriously injured when a stranger sucker punched him on Manhattan's East Side this month, police said Tuesday as they released video of the suspect.

The victim was outside 510 East 23rd St. in Stuyvesant Town–Peter Cooper Village on the night of June 5 when he was attacked unprovoked.

A man on a bicycle came up and slugged him in the face, police said.

The victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was listed in serious but stable condition.

The attacker fled on the bike and remains at large.
