VIDEO: 83-year-old man exiting Bronx MTA bus violently attacked by suspect during dispute

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man who violently attacked an 83-year-old man following a dispute on a Bronx MTA bus in late May.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 31, as the victim was attempting to exit an MTA bus in the vicinity of Barnes Avenue and East Gun Hill Road in the Olinville section when he engaged in a verbal dispute with the suspect, officials said.


The dispute turned physical and the suspect poured liquid over the victim's head and then proceeded to punch him multiple times in the face with a closed fist, according to police.

Authorities said the suspect then exited the bus, fleeing westbound on East Gun Hill Road.

The victim sustained multiple facial fractures and was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned man approximately 30 - 40 years of age, 5'11" tall, 180 lbs, and was last seen wearing a denim jacket, blue jeans, a black hat, and black sneakers.
