NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An 89-year-old man was critically injured after his car plunged into the water in Brooklyn Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
Just after 12 p.m., the man was driving down Arkansas Drive in Mill Basin when he lost control and the car crashed into the water.
NYPD divers rescued the man after he became trapped in his car.

The driver was rushed to Mount Sinai Brooklyn with life-threatening injuries, police said.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. It is unclear if the man suffered a medical episode before losing control, officials said.
An investigation is ongoing.
